Good morning ladies,

It has been a long time since I have participated in a blog hop and I am very excited! I created two projects for you today. The first is a reindeer treat box which I made using the Holiday Bigz L Die from the Holiday Mini Catalog. This project came together pretty quicky once I figured out all the dimensions. There is a box tucked in the center, between both reindeers, which can be used to put a small bag of treats or simply fill it with candy.

My second project is a center step stair card which I created using the Frostwood Lodge desginer series paper as well as the Bright Hopes stamp set. As you can see, I embossed the tree with silver embossing powder to make it a little snazzy.

Fall Gratitude Diamond Album

Blue Sunflowers

Good evening Ladies,

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. I created this card a while back eager to try this new technique. To color the flowers, stamp the image with a neutral ink and then color the image using watercolor pencils. I layered the color until I achieved the desired intensity as well as a smooth finish. I have been out of the loop for some time. This evening I am sharing an origami album I created a while back. It is very easy to make, although it looks a bit complicated in the photographs!!!

ROYAL BLOG TOUR 2010!!!!

Welcome to the Royal Blog Tour! My first project is a lovely flower cart. I used a combination of Marina Mist and Bashful Blue cardstock to create the cart. If you look closely, the bashful blue has been created to look like peeling paint. I then used floral foam covered in Old Olive to place in the center of the cart so it could hold the flowers in place. Speaking of flowers, these are from the Eastern Blooms stamp set and have been stamped with Cajun Craze ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I used painted skewers for the stems and for the umbrella. Notice the antique brads on the cart wheels.

My second project is a two page layout. I used the same color scheme for this project that I used for the flower cart. The layout consists of two 12 x 12 pages which have been embellished with cut flowers, pearls, embossed silver photo corners and ink. If you look closely at the light blue, you will see that I used the peeled paint technique, as I wanted to give the paper the look of old wood. All the flowers on the layout are cut individually. I also made some silver photo corners which I stamped with the large flower from the Eastern Blooms stamp set.

Christmas Planner

Good morning,

Welcome to the October edition of the SU Stars blog hop. This month we are featuring project with Thanksgiving or Thank you themes. I have created two projects for you, which I hope you will enjoy. My first project is a bag which can be used as a small purse, a tote, or as a gift bag to show a special someone your gratitude. The base of the bag was created with Rose Red card stock. I then embellished it with Sweet and Sour DSP as well as Silver Brads all along the front of the bag. The entire bag was then inked with Melon Mambo.

For my second project, I created a box for candy with an interesing see through section on the side of the box. This project was inspired by a similar box which is featured in the current catalog. The base of the box was also made with Rose Red card stock, an it too was embellished with Sweet and Sour DSP. The box was finished off with a bow I made with Pretty in Pink satin ribbon. As you can see, I filled the box with Hershey's kisses, but any other small candy would look great.

Inkspired Tour for October 2010!!

Welcome back my friends! I can hardly believe that we are in mid October. Today, we are celebrating the one year anniversary of the Inkspired Tour. I have been honored to participate in this endeavor with all of the amazing ladies that make up the tour. I want to express my gratitude to Martha Lucia, creator of the tour, for all her hard work, for allowing me to participate in the group, and mostly for being such an amazing friend. Since this month marks the one year anniversary, I wanted to make some extra special projects to share with you.

My first project is a tote bag. I created the tote with More Mustard card stock and Autumn Spice DSP. I also used some brads for "hardware" decoration and Crumb Cake ink to give the purse a distressed look.

My second project is an A4 center step card. I also used More Mustard card stock, Autumn Spice DSP, So Thankful stamp set, and Old Olive satin ribbon.

My final project is in honor of Halloween. I created a small container decorated container that will hold one test tube which you can fill with any small candy. I chose to fill the test tube with M&Ms that are now being sold autumn colors. I embellished the container with pumpkin pie card stock which I embossed with the cobweb stamp of the Wicked Cool stamp set.

Embossed Resist Card

Good morning my friends,

Today I have another card to share with you. For this one, I used the emboss resist technique as well as sponging. I used the pick a petal stamp and embossed the image onto glossy paper. I then used Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze ink to bring out the outline of the design. The colors I selected for the card are Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. I also used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder to create some interesting texture.

Peeling Paint Autumn Card

Hello my friends,

I have been working diligently to bring you some new projects. This card looks a bit complicated but is really quite simple to make. The peeled paint technique is really fun to work with. All you need is a bit of glue and some acrylic paint and voila, you get the most beautiful distressed backgrounds. For this card, I used Early Espresso as the base and vanilla acrylic paint as I wanted the dark brown to show through as the paint separated. It is a bit hard to tell from the photo but the center leaf was sprinkle with clear glitter.

Inkspired Tour for September 2010!!!!!!

Welcome back ladies,

The Inkspired Tour for September is finally here!! For this month's tour I created a 2 page layout with a fall theme. The layout was made with Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake and Basic Black card stock as well as the Sweet and Sour Specialty DSP. I then embellished the pages with black ric rac, brads and Early Espresso taffeta ribbon. The DSP as well as the entire title were distressed with Crumb Cake ink.

My second project is a milk container. This one is a bit different than the one you can cut with the SU die cut because it is larger. The container was made with Pumpkin Pie textured card stock which was distressed with Crumb Cake ink. I then covered the milk container with a piece of DSP and also distressed it with Crumb Cake ink. Finally, I embellished it with an image from the Bright Blessings wheel and Pumpkin Pie Taffeta ribbon.

Inkspired Tour for August 2010!!!

Hi Ladies,
I would like to welcome those of you that are returning as well as those of you who are visiting for the first time! For this month's blog tour I have created three projects. The first project is a note pad with built in space for the pen. I was inspired by a tiny version of this note pad I purchased at a craft store. The base of the note pad is Basic Black Card Stock. I then added a layer of Riding Hood Red Card Stock and adhered a piece of DSP from the Love Letter collection. I then used Very Vanilla satin ribbon and another piece of DSP to create the butterfly on the front of the note pad. I also used DSP on the pen to give it a finished look.

The second photograph is to show you what the inside of the notepad looks like. As you can see, there is a note pad on both sides.

Para mi segundo proyecto, hice una tarjeta que coordina con el proyecto anterior. Esta tarjeta fue creada con el mismo papel Love Letter que pueden encontrar en el nuevo catalogo. El frente de la tarjeta esta decorada con una pieza que fue creada con la technica de Gesso Resist. La mariposa en el frente de la tarjeta fue cortada con el die Beautiful Butterflies.

My last project is an adorable little basket. The body of the basket was made with Basic Black Card stock. As with the other two projects, I used the Love Letter DPS to embellish the basket. I love making this project because there is no glueing involved. The entire thing is held together by two tiny brads.

Inkspired Tour for July 2010!!!

Welcome Ladies,

I have a variety of projects to share with you today. The first project is an adorable altered notebook. As you can see, I used the Play Date DSP and new owl punch from the new catalog. I used torn strips of red fabric to decorate the notebook's spiral. The inside covers of the notebook were finished off with a panel of Old Olive card stock. This is a very easy project and makes a great gift!

My second project is a candy container for Halloween. This one came together pretty easily. I was inspired by an image I found in an old Tole Painting book I had purchased long ago. I used Pumpkin Pie card stock for the body of the pumpkins and the box that lies in between. I then used two pieces of chipboard to attach the wheels on which were sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink. The entire piece was chalked to enhance the colors. This would be a very cute project for giving away candy on Halloween day! I will be uploading a tutorial for this project along with the images for the pumpkin's face and the wheels.

My last project is a card for a baby girl. For this project is used Pink Pirouette and Early Espresso card stock, Pink Pirouette DSP from the soft subtles pack, Pretty in Pink satin ribbon, the Square Lattice embossing folder and the Baby Tees stamping wheel. As you can see from the card, I am still contemplating whether I want to add a sentiment or not.

Canvas Cover Accordion Album

Hi ladies,

This project was created for the Madeline's new tutorial service INKspirations 4U. I had a lot of fun making it. I used 2 canvas boards for the front and back covers. The body of the book was created with the new textured crumb cake card stock. I then used DSP that was inked to decorate the inner pages. Thank you so much for joining me once again. I am thrilled to be here to share my newest creations with you. My first project is an album that was inspired by a card. I used the new textured Marina Mist cardstock for the base of the album. I then decorated the book with the new textured Crumb Cake cardstock, Bashful Blue Cardsstock and the new DSP. I purposely decided not to stamp the book because I wanted to showcase the embossing folder and distressed look of the book. For the front cover used Crumb Cake which has been embossed and distressed as well as two large eyelets. The butterflies were cut with the embosslits die and the new DSP.

My second project is a small purse which was made with the new Espresso Textured cardstock. I then inked the Vintage Wall Paper embossing folder with Pretty in Pink ink and embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I am not sure if the photograph will clearly show you the colors. Welcome to my castle at the Royal Blog Tour! My first project is an altered 3 panel canvas. The following materials were used to create this project: Gesso, acrylic paint, SU designer paper, SU ribbon, Su border punch, the Embrace Life stamp set, brads, and hinges. This adorable little purse is very easy to make and has a surprise inside! I used SU Not Quite Navy Cardstock to create the base of the purse. I then used Bella Bleau DSP to embellish the inside and outside of the purse. I used the Vintage vogue flowers and stamped the background with the watercolor set found in the summer mini catalog. The second is a tri-fold card in which I also used the water color set and the well scripted set. I gave the card a distressed look. My final project is an altered canvas. For this project I used the new in a word stamp set from the n mini and some vintage photos of my grandparents. I embellished the canvas with brads and flowers and then distressed the entire thing. Black Magic Technique

Good morning ladies. This card was created using the fabulous black magic technique. Simply stamp your image onto a piee of dark cardstock using white craft ink. Use your heating gun to dry the ink on the paper. Color in the image using watercolor pencils and shade until you are satisfied with the colors. Voila!

Bundle of Joy Baby, Giraffe and Dress Baby Cards

This card was inspired by a paper piecing pattern from the amazing illustrator Annie Lang. As a scrapbooker I used to do a lot of paper piecing and I thought I would do a little experiment using the technique for cards. Rubber Duckie Card

Good evening ladies! I have been thinking for days that I wanted to create a baby card in the shape of a rubber duck. Tonight I finally did it. The base of the card is So Saffron. I cut out the card and chalked all around it. I then cut 4 one in circles in Close to Cocoa. The center of the wheels were made using Bashful Blue DSP and the sizzlits button die which can be found in the current catalog. I adhered the wheels with dimensional sticky squares. For the finishing touches, I chalked the beak with More Mustard chalk, adhered the eye and added a little blush to the cheek. Voila! All done. Thanks for dropping by.

For my final project, I created a two page 12 x 12 layout. I used the following supplies: 12 x 12 So Saffron Cardstock, Pawsitively Prints DSP, Ballet Blue, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip cardstock. I also used the Fox and Friends stamp set from the new occassions mini catalog. I also used Chocolate Chip Ribbon and Su markers. This layout was a lot of fun to make. With All My Heart

This card was inspired by my friend Marta Lucia. She showed me several cards she made using this technique. A bit of tape, lots of glitter, and voila! For this card I used the new border punch as well as stamps from the occassions mini catalog.

For this round I created several projects, the first of which is an experiment with ink and a brayer. I think it turned out great! Altered Tin

I really like the way this one turned out. The DSP is from the occassions mini catalog. I embellished the tin with a bow made from chocolate chip ribbon. The heart is stamped onto Pretty in Pink cardstock with Chocolate Chip ink and was mounted onto Chocolate Chip cardstock. The tin is very easy to assemble and the results are spectacular.

Medallion

The medallion stamp is another one of my favorties. For for this card I used Sahara Sand for the base and the DSP from the catalog. I stamped the medallion onto Melon Mambo with Soft Suede ink and mounted it onto Pretty in Pink cardstock. I then embellished the card pearls and a bow made with Pretty in Pink ribbon.

This is one of my favorite stamps. For this one I used pumpkin pie, old olive and soft suede markers to color the image. The base of the card was made with pumkin pie cardstock. The DSP is from the sale-a bration catalog and the paper pad found in the occassions mini catalog. I embellished the card with a bow made from very vanilla ribbon.

For this one I used also used the buttefly embossing die. However, I used the top note die and created a quilted image by cutting one inch squares of patterned paper and gluing them onto a 4 x 6 piece of Whisper White cardstock. All the paper used in this card is from the paper pad found in the occassions mini catalog. This is an A2 card.

One of my favorite things from the new occassions mini catalog is the butterfly embossing die. For this card I used Natural cardstock as the base and DSP from the mini catalog. I layered the butterflies by adhering two butterflies together. I then embellished the center with mini pearls. This card is 5 1/4 by 5 1/4 square.

This one was pretty easy to put together. I used the Vintage Vogue stamp set, but made my own background paper. For the background paper I used Soft Suede, Old Olive, and Pumpkin Pie ink. I then sponged the entire thing with certainly celery. The card was embellished with pearls and a bow made with Very Vanilla ribbon.

I decided to try my hand at making a step stair card. For this one I chose to use the Flock Together designer series paper. I used Certainly Celery for the card base and Whisper White matted with Tempting Turquoise for the image and sentiment, both of which are from the Friends 24-7 stamp set. I finished off the card with Tempting Turquoise Ribbon, flowers and brads. Oh, almost forgot! I colored the image with Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Certainly Celery and Soft Suede. To give the edge that tattered and worn look I used the 7 sided distressing tool. I think it really adds interest and dimension to the card, and keeps it from looking too linear. TIP OF THE DAY: If you find yourself with a lot of scraps both card stock and designer series paper I suggest making these adorable 3 x 3 cards. I made these using Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, and Kraft card stock. I also used the Bella Bleu designer paper and kraft ribbon. The sentiments were stamped with Basic Grey ink and were cut with the Nestabilities small oval templates. Thanks!

This is the second of three cards that belongs with the box I posted below. For this one I chose to do a gate fold design using Old Olive card stock as the base. I them mounted designer series paper on the two front flaps of the card. The inside of the card was covered with Whisper White card stock. I used the flowers from the Friends 24-7 stamp set. The image was stamped onto Whisper White and I colored it in with the Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Certainly Celery markers. I then cut the image into an oval using Spellbinder's Nestabilities templates. I finished off the card Rich Razzleberry ribbon. This is the first of three cards that belong with the box I previously posted below. As I stated below, I used the Cottage Wall designer series paper. The card base is Pale Plum. I then mounted the designer paper onto Rich Razzelberry which were both adhered to the base. The stamp I used for this one is the Flourish from the Friends 24-7 set. I finished off the card with organza ribbon the same shade as the Rich Razzleberry. Thanks!

This is the third and final boxed set I completed last week. Although this one is the same style as the first one I posted, it is vertical in orientation rather than horizontal. For this one I used Rich Razzleberry card stock for the foundation of the box. I then colored the Pretty Petals background stamp with the Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Pale Plum markers. The image was stamped onto Whisper White card stock and was mounted onto Pale Plum card stock. I finished it off with Rich Razzleberry ribbon. The back side of the box was finished off in the same manner described above. This boxed set also includes 6 cards which were executed in three different styles using the new Cottage Walls Designer Series Paper. I will post the three cards shortly. Thanks for looking.

This is the third and final card for the boxed set I previously posted. For this one I used Rich Razzleberry card stock and a top layer of Very Vanilla that has been embossed. For the stamp I used the Friendly Words wheel which I embossed using Craft Chocolate Chip ink and detail clear embossing powder. I them mounted the entire stamped image onto Chocolate Chip card stock. I finished off the card with organza ribbon in the same shade.

This is one of the three cards that belongs with the boxed set I posted below. For this one I used Melon Mambo card stock along with layer of Pretty in Pink which has been embossed. For the stamp, I used the Upsy Daisy set. I colored the image with the Melon Mambo and Old Olive markers. The sentiment was also stamped with Old Olive ink. I used Whisper White with the Top Note Die and stamped the image onto it. I then mounted it onto Old Olive and cut around the entire piece leaving a small border. I finished off the card with Old Olive grosgrain ribbon. Thanks for looking!

This is another boxed set I worked on last week. For this one I used Crushed Curry card stock for the top layer. First I stamped the paper using the flowers from the Simple Friendship stamp set and then I embossed it. I was pleasantly surprised with the effect I achieved. I used Real Red card stock for the butterfly which is stamped with Soft Suede Ink. I really like the overall effect of the three colors. As with the previous post, this is a set of six cards with 6 envelopes. However, in this set I have made 3 different styles of cards which I will post briefly. Thanks for looking!

I finally did it! I have been meaning to post my work in a blog for a while but never seemed to get around to actually doing it. For my first post I selected this gorgerous box which was made using Stampin' Up's Manhattan Flower embossing folder. I also used Bermuda Bay card stock as well as Whisper White card stock. Although the design and look of the box is very simple, I think the end result is very elegant. I designed to box to be wide enough to hold 6 cards and envelopes. This set would make a perfect gift for a friend or special loved one. I will be teaching this project as a workshop next month.
